2018 Reunion - initial report
What an excellent reunion with another good turnout! (despite the deteriorating weather!). Thank you to both of our super guest speakers for rounding off the day. Thanks also to AGE UK for their MAJOR contribution to the success of the day. Good to see so many retired staff in attendance (in no particular order Baxter, Burrows, Mann, Lawrence, Lawson, Hutchinson, Childs, Rudge and Povoas). Photos and report to follow. Spare a thought for our founder Dennis and wife Stephanie making the round trip from Wales with a wagon load of memorabilia

You are invited to the twenty first CBS Reunion, full details below. Please RSVP as soon as possible. You may be unable (or simply not wish) to attend, if this is the case please tell me. You can e-mail, phone, write or text, so communication should not be a problem. Thank you.
DATE Saturday March 17th 2018
VENUE Clarence House, Humberstone Gate, Leicester LE1 3PJ (The former school building)
TIME 11.00am - 3.45pm
PRICE £13.00 to include lunch, or £6.50 entry only. Please note that lunch MUST be booked in advance.. Age UK have asked us to pre-order the meals. Please see the menu below, and send me your choices along with your cheque. Make a note of what you have ordered, you will have forgotten by March!!!
BAR We are arranging our own bar facilities again. Complimentary tea and coffee will also be available
GUESTS Wives, friends and partners are welcome. Entry is free if they do not require lunch, but £13.00 if they do. We have held the price from last year.
AGM As usual there will be a brief AGM, when you will be given the opportunity to make comments.
PARKING There is no parking on site, but multi-storey car parks can be found nearby.
MEMORABILIA We will be exhibiting some of the school memorabilia, along with a selection of panoramic photographs.
GUEST SPEAKER To be announced, we are waiting for one of you to volunteer!! Contact me if you would like to speak to a friendly crowd!
RAFFLE The raffle is popular, and a good way of raising funds. If you could bring something as a prize that would be great. Chocolates, wine, toiletries - anything really. It is a good way to dispose of those unwanted Christmas presents!

CBS Reunion 2018

Our 21st Reunion will take place on Saturday 17/3/18.

2017 Reunion - first report

WOW! What a turn out for this year's special 20th reunion! Everyone attending received a commemorative coaster as a gift (see below) and were entertained by talks from ex-pupil Roger Povoas & retired teacher Bob Childs. The coasters could be put to the test on the day either from the complementary tea & coffee or at the honesty bar. (Anyone wanting to purchase a coaster (price £2 + p&p) can email cbsleicester@gmail.com). On sale this year were Bob Childs' book about the history of the school post 1976 plus a new publication from our treasurer Brian Screaton, detailing the long-forgotten Thurnby Court (anyone who missed the chance to purchase a copy of Brian's well received book can still do so online at www.thurnbycourt.blogspot.co.uk)..
Thanks once again to all at Age UK for excellent catering & ensuring that the day ran smoothly.
